Inspiration for the conceptual solution of the apartment building in Grbalj, near Kotor, was drawn from the traditional layout of village houses, where urbanism is developed through clusters of spontaneously organised stone houses.
It is for this reason that the building has been broken down into constituent micro-portions, where the front, made up of three stone houses, stands out and they clearly simulate a Mediterranean rural style.

The stone buildings are embedded into the master structure, a modernist white cube which is completely de-materialised and neutral, and inferior to the dominant stone fragments.
The landscaping of the building environment is the crucial component in shaping an intimate and introverted space. The parterre has plenty of green spaces and vegetation, and is enriched with organised common spaces and a shared swimming pool, which activate the space and encourage its users to socialise, leading to a quality and meaningful life in collective housing.
