MOHO is a private complex consisting of three modern villas, located in the fabulous landscape of the fishing village of Prčanj on the Bay of Kotor. The location offers fantastic views of the town of Kotor, and this view has played a key role in the design of the complex.
The architectural and urban concept of this small complex was inspired by the immediate surroundings, i.e. the cultural heritage of the nearby coastal villages and towns, positioned in harmony with the environment and topography of the terrain. The illusion of a small settlement was created by breaking down the structure of the house into two or three separate spaces, with seven freely distributed structures, with varying roof pitches, and the complex can be interpreted as a group characterised by modern minimalism.
There is a special focus in the creation of these three villas on the relationship with the environment, which has been conceived as a kind of “external interior” with different units that exist in the landscape design. The design is also defined by the use of stones of different finishes and distribution, which is typical of the traditional architecture of this region, and the forming of several “giardini”, each with its own pool, all hidden from view so as to protect the intimacy of these gardens.
The green setting and the intact nature above the settlement generate a free architectural composition, which is manifested in a modern approach to living, where essential comfort comes down to living in symbiosis with nature and enjoying the stunning views at the location.
